Tobago: Six hockey Girls in National Under-21

The spotlight will now fall on the National under 21 girls hockey team, now that the National boys team have completed their campaign in the Pan Am Junior under 21 Hockey Championship in which they finished eight.
The girls version of the Championships is schedule for Puerto Rico from March 16-27.
Paradise Hockey Club, the only hockey team in Tobago has a record number of six players on the 16 member squad, the most from any one team in the Hockey Federation, testimony to the success of the club's Pine Hill Dairy Development programme and the committement and hard work of headcoach Annette Knot and her coaching staff.
The six players are Nicollette Alleyne who is the captain of the team and was a member of the national team when they played in the said Championships four years ago, Jienielle Carrington, Chevy Wallace, Rene Charles, Charlene Williams and Racine Chandler.
The team which will depart for Puerto Rico on Sunday has been undergoing intensive training, three days a week and on week-ends for the last month in preparation for the Championships and it has been tough on the Paradise youngsters, especially the trio of
Charles Chandler and Wallace, who are preparing for their A Level exams but have been forced to miss school to attend training sessions according to Knot.
However, she reported that their school and teachers have been very accommodating working with the players to ensure that their studies are not severely affected despite their absence from school.
She was also high in praise for the Sports Division for providing the airline tickets for the players to attend training with out fail. The national team will depart from Trinidad to Puerto Rico on Sunday.
