MJPA: Cuba eliminated from field hockey tournament final

The Cuban men's field hockey team lost 2-1 to the United States and was eliminated from the finals of the 8th Pan-American Youth Championship in Havana on Tuesday.

The US team scored through Daniel Jordan and Patrick Harris, while Cuba did so through Orlando Quirola, in the match held at Havana's Antonio Maceo Stadium.

Argentina, with three victories and no defeat, and the United States with three wins and one loss, in Group A, assured their positions in the semi-finals on Saturday.

Chile, after a victory over Canada in Grup B, also moved on to the semi-finals.

This tournament concludes on Sunday and two teams qualify for the World Cup to be held at Rotterdam, the Netherlands June 29-July 10.
