- Poiatti Qormi vs. Sliema Hs to be replayed.

On Sunday reigning Champions Rabat Depiro consolidated their leadership of the hockey league with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Poiatti Qormi. It was a vintage Rabat performance and certainly their best one so far this season. Two goals inside the first twenty minutes from Chris Bugeja (5M) and Josef Antonelli (17M) knocked the stuffing out of Qormi and a third goal, the second from Chris Bugeja, just on the stroke of half time, sealed the issue.

Poiatti’s reaction in the second half was a case of to little to late but their efforts were rewarded with a 16th minute goal from Frank Bugeja. However Rabat were never in any real difficulty and in the last minute of the game they scored goal number four through Jason Vella.

In the second game of the day The Hunters Tower Restaurant had little difficulty in overcoming the challenge from White Hart. Two goals from Chris Attard, one at the start and the other at the end of the first half gave Young Stars a comfortable 2-0 cushion at half time. They were never really threatened by a depleted White Hart side and the final whistle found them 2-0 winners and tucked in right behind Rabat Depiro.

In the meantime the HAM Executive has decided the second round game between Poiatti Qormi and Sliema Hs, which had ended 1-0 in favour of Qormi, will have to be replayed. Qormi had failed to list one of their players on the team line up presented to the umpires before the game. The player in fact played when he should have not. Following this decision and Sunday’s games the League table reads as follows:

MATCH FROM THE BLUE LABEL NATIONAL LEAGUE PLAYED ON WEDNESDAY 9TH FEBRUARY: RABAT 1 vs. THE HUNTERS’ TOWER 1

P W D L F A PTS
Rabat Depiro 6 4 2 0 10 4 14
The Hunters’ Tower Rest. YS 6 3 2 1 9 5 11
Sliema Hs 4 2 1 1 6 5 7
Poiatti Qormi 5 1 1 3 7 9 4
White Hart 5 0 0 5 3 12 0

With a decision like that the executive should resign en bloc. What a Shame!!!

The decision taken by the executive apparently is not final and I regret any inconvinience caused by the write-up. My sources obviously passed on part of the story. I have to stress that despite the clubs involved in this matter there was no intention on my part to jump the gun or force the hand of the Association.

As far as i know the game is going to be replayed and i think that is the right decision. Qormi had no intention of cheating. The player in question is a player that plays week in week out.

Dear Henry
Nobody is doubting your integrity whatsoever as you have been an exemplary player and official of the game for donkey's years now - no pun intended in the choice of the word donkey.

You were right, as were all of us, to assume that the HAM decision was final, however it would appear that HAM is not coping with all its 'homework' these days and is being caught with its pants down on a number of occasions. I sincerely think its time to swallow pride and cry HELP !!!!

Let's wait and see the outcome, all be it clear and unequivocal in my mind. from tomorrow's HAM Executive Meeting.

Keep up the good work Hen.

Belated condolences to the Cassar family (Young Stars) and to David & Simon Agius (White Hart) for their recent loss also.

Qormi Pres.

Arrogance
Mr. Tabone....since when do u answer for HAM?

Is it because the President and Secretary are from White Hart?
Is it because the Umpires Manager/Selector is also from White Hart?
Is it because the National Team Coach (yourself) is also from White Hart?

Maybe it should be called W.H.A.M. ???? hehehe

The Clubs cannot take this arrogance from the White Hart people anymore. The association is nothing without the clubs and must start respecting them more and not treating them like sxxt.

But that has nothing to do with you I guess, Mr. Tabone, as you do not have anything to do with the Association....right???

Stick to coaching the national team and leave the rest to others and dont be the unelected PRO of HAM please.

Dont worry the President and Secretary will still appoint you as national team coach !!!

Well done to the above observation. But lets just forget whose running the league because after all, we (the players) are the show. Keep up all the good hockey guys.

NOT WHITE HART and ???
Thank heavens you are not a White Hart member we certainly do not need chickens like you in our setup.

If you had to ask me it seems that you are one of those who just "plays" hockey and thats about it.

Why don't you come forward and offer your services or are you not capable??

Maybe you are also one who is pretentious enough to make the national team but has been left on the wayside.....

And incidentally I have everyright to answer for HAM, as I like you am a member of the association and as you have put it the players run the show. Pathetic just pathetic. and then you headed your contribution Arrogance. Arrogance because only White Hart Members come forward offering their services for the good of the game. That, in some little cranny of your somewhat sick mind is ARROGANCE.

Poor fellas, have your mind seen to, before it's too late
