Shaheen are the first Hong Kong club to secure a spot in the Super League - South China Hockey play-off's, along with 2004 Champions, Guangdong-China.

Last night Shaheen defeated the previously top-placed Indian side SSSC 4-1, after leading 2-1 at half-time. Three of Shaheen's goals came from penalty corner combinations between Arif and Akbar Ali.

The final two spots will be either HKFC, SSSC or Macau, with two matches to play.
The weekends first 1-1 draw between Macau and HKFC, failed to secure either team a certain play-off berth (3 Hong Kong teams qualify). HKFC's goalkeeper, Chris Page saved an Alex Chan penalty stroke, to give HKFC a share of the points, and survival.

Another SSSC draw, this time with lowly Pakistan Assn, kept them one win away from certain qualification.
Shaheen had earlier defeated Valley 4-1 to end their hopes for the season.

Simon!!
Simon, do you know what you talking or writing? Who said Shaheen is safe for top 3....
1. If Shaheen don't get any more points..then they still have 20 points.
2. If SSSC A take all points then they will be 23 points, HKFC A same...
3. If Macau take all points then they will be 26 points
4. Even Pak Assn. A will be 21 points if they take all points....
So, if Shaheen got 26 points then Simon you are right.
Please anyone guide me if I am wrong.

Thomas, you dumb!!
You dumb.. read the table again...did I say SSSC still have 3 games to GO? I said if they take all points it will be 23 points... now they are 17 points, please add 6 points (2 games).
Perhaps, you don't know that there is 7 teams in the Premier League and they need to play 2 rounds, which means 12 games per team. Then Macau still have 4 games to go as they played only 8.
Hope you understand.

Apparently the 3rd and 4th teams will be in a playoff so Valley and Pak can still make it.

Also, Pakistan and valley still have a chance, after beating KCC, they have 12 points and 3 more games to go and valley has 9 points with 3 games to go, and HKFC is at 14 with 3 games left, and macau has 15 points with 3 games left, so all teams except kcc all have a chance.

Simon
The reason why Simon said Shaheen is ok, it's because they want Shaheen to relax when they play them, so that they can win and get 3 points. All the time Simon is using this planetfieldhockey to promote HKFC... not HK hockey. Don't know why HKHA still using and allow hime to do this.

very informative site
I am a guy who has been away from hk for quite sometimes. Is good to know that there is a hockey site that update me about what is going on in the HK hockey circle.
I am in my 40's & enjoy so much watching those amazing matches back in the 80's. The competiveness between the top few team were outstanding. Is it still that competitive now or not. Any matches between Nav Barret, Shaheen, HKFC, Khalsa & Recerio are promise to be a good matches. The indian magic of Sarindar, Bod, Ha brothers, MB were always exciting to watch. The master mind of Hamid Din, the creativity of Salim, the super entertaining Nawab combine with Chilli and Ziez made Shaheen an amazing team to watch. The power of Palma, the Smoothness of Watson & the great touches of Belu make Khalsa a tough oppenent for anyteam.I still could recall that King Park was always jam whenever these few teams met. Is there still alot of spectature watching The games now.
