Mariner Youngs Club threatened to boycott the ongoing Green Delta Premier Division Hockey League if matches were not conducted by foreign umpires.

The Mariner demand came after their 1-1 draw against holders Abahani on Friday, which was allegedly marked by poor umpiring.

In a letter to the league committee, the club said that they would not play their next match against Mohammedan Sporting Club on December 7.

Meanwhile, general secretary of the Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) Shamsul Bari said that two umpires would be arriving in Dhaka soon.

"Zulfiqur Haider of Pakistan and Indian SS Shakhi are expected to conduct the league within couple of days," Bari informed.
