The Challenge Cup continued on Sunday with two further matches that saw The Hunters’ Tower Restaurant and Poiatti Qormi qualify for the semi-finals of this competition. The Hunters’ Tower Rest won their second leg match against Sliema Hs thanks to an early penalty goal scored by Charles Micallef. Sliema Hs will now have to face the third placed team from Group A in a play off for the fourth semi-final place. The third place of Group A will be decided on Wednesday 27th October when Rabat Depiro face White Hart at 19.30. At the moment Poiatti Qormi is the only team to have booked their place in the semis thanks to their four points from two matches.

On Sunday Poiatti Qormi battled to a thrilling 3-3 draw with Champions Rabat. Frank Bugeja put them in the lead almost on the stroke of half time but goals from Antonelli and Vella turned the result in Rabat’s favour in the second half. Almost on the half hour Bugeja once again restored parity when he fired in a second short corner (his third in two matches). A few minutes later, in the 32M, Antonelli scored what looked like being the winner for Rabat. However, Poiatti were not to be outdone and on the stroke of time they were awarded a penalty that Reuben Chircop duly converted. Rabat now need one point from Wednesday’s game to qualify for the semi-finals.

After Wednesday’s match, the Challenge Cup will break for a weekend, as the Hockey Association will be organizing a Veterans Festival. The matches will be played on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31. Games will start at 2pm. Joining the HAM selection for this festival will be Gens Italica from Italy and Members HC from England

Ivan with Qormi
With the new way that the association rules are applied, Ivan will play the first half with Young Stars. During the half time he will be released and registered with Qormi. In case of penalties he will be transfered after he gives his penalty for Qormi so that he will take also the 5th penalty for Young Stars!!!!!!!!!
Since Ivan Is Loyal more then ANYTHING ELSE (ghax sar xi uggett!!!) After the game he will be transferred back to Young Stars. This way he will still be a club member of Young Stars from sunday afternoon till sunday morning

To All
This can be done only because some have presumptuously chosen to interprete it that way. One should look back to the original intention of the council's decision. I am sure this was not the intention. Logically, I would interprete that transfers are to be allowed ONLY BETWEEN the Challenge Cup and the League. This would serve the only intended purpose of giving the chance for a player to switch clubs... if Whitehart wins we will see!!!

will you give the same treatment you gave to Reno, to your national team players... leave the more fit and younger players on the bench to play an experienced but slow player?

Super Cup
Very simple explanation my good "friends" One can register as many players as one wishes before the Super Cup match and then release them. Therefore something ought to be done in this regard. To Flash News: I do not think that you have your records correct. I believe that my team contested the last Super Cup in 2000/1. That is very much recent history; isn't it my good friend? Life is a cycle my good friend and I am sure that our time will come much faster than you think!!!! However having said all this there is one more thing I would like to add: Do you not have the COURAGE to show your name? are you by any chance one of those players who can hardly walk let alone run on the field and with no grey matter between your ears?

To Bazu: Yes Bazu you are also one of those people with no spunk?

To Dear Mr. Tabone: If the fit and younger players deserve to be on the field, then they will be on the field however if you are one of those players who is full of pretentions and think you know it all just because you just learnt how to hold a stick ; then, if I happen to be around, I can assure you that you will spend be the greater part of your playing career on the bench. Therefore the conclusion is a fit and younger player with NO grey matter is NO player.

Cheers

I think Mr Tabone deserves more respect than those comments. much has been achived in the past as regards to national team thanks to him and only him! but ... i think it was the time for him to go but from what was heard David wanted him to stay for reasons that are not strange at all, and he stayed on.

white hart vs hotsticks.
saturday was a very interesting game. Hotsticks played quite well but then they lost some good chances.
Whitehart are showing that they have a very good side and will offer sound resistance to everybody.
Well done! the investiment they have done in the juniors is paying back.

To Young Stars
Do you realise that the our kids that are with White Hart are there only so that when they do not have anough players they are used.
It is very funny to see Tyron Mizzi all the game on the bench and when in the last 10 minutes he plays he was the best player on the pitch. then we come for the extra time and he is left on the bench again. This happens also to Williams and Malcolm, lower level players are being selected instead of them and they stay ON THE BENCH in case of an emergency.
Qumu min hemm and bring back the Young Stars players to our team before the challenge cup finishes

As always, these comments are just being said in order to create problems or pressure on the youngstars team and to make them look as if they do not care about the players sent on loan with whiteheart. Thanks for the constant criticism!!!
