After an absence of three years, Singapore are among 11 teams who confirmed participation in the coming Tun Razak Cup hockey tournament at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil from Nov 27 to Dec 5.
"Yes, I have received their (Singapore) confirmation letter today. Singapore are very keen to participate in the Tun Razak Cup," said Malaysian Hockey Federation (MHF) Honorary Secretary, T. Paramalingam.
Other teams who have confirmed are defending champions Kuala Lumpur, runner-up National Juniors, Pahang, Perak, Melaka, Johor, Armed Forces and Negeri Sembilan.
Penang and Selangor have given verbal confirmation.
However, MHF is still awaiting confirmation from Perlis, Sabah and Thailand.
"With Singapore in this season, I would expect a good fight for everyone as there would be a mixture of style and methods," said Paramalingam.
As in previous years, participating teams would be divided into two groups -- A and B.
"I expect the same number of teams as last year -- 12 teams, which will consist of two groups and played in round robin style," he said.
The Tun Razak Cup offers prize money of RM3,000 (Champions), RM2,000 (Runner-up), RM1,000 (Third) and RM500 for fourth placing.
