LAHORE: Pakistan hockey coach and former Olympian Tahir Zaman has returned home after conducting FIH basic hockey coaching course in Dubai.

Tahir supervised a week-long course, which was aimed at introducing hockey and imparting basic coaching techniques in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where the UAE Hockey Union is making zealous efforts to develop the game at grassroots level.

“This useful activity was attended by 50 male and female participants who belonged to UAE states,” said Tahir here on Sunday. “FIH believes there is a lot of potential to promote hockey in the desert region and that is the reason it is giving special importance to provide all sort of technical assistance to the UAE Hockey Union,” he added.

He said he delivered special lectures regarding basic hockey coaching besides demonstrating coaching methods on the ground. UAE Hockey Union president Ismail Ali Albanni and UAE Inter School Sports Association president Sheikh Ahmad Bin Saad also attended few sessions. app
