The Queen's Park Cricket Club men and the ladies of Carib Magnolia will be looking to get off to a good start as they prepare to defend their respective titles when the Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Board 2004 National Indoor Hockey season flicks off this evening at the Woodbrook Youth Facility from 6 p.m.

Magnolia will be aiming for a clean sweep of titles among the women this year, having already secured the TTHB Opening Tournament, League, Big Four and Chinese Indoor titles.

This year will see 17 schools battle for the schools title each weekend, as well as the introduction of an all-star match up featuring members of clubs playing in the tournament at both the Open and Under-21 levels.

Magnolia/QPCC repeats
Queen's Park and Magnolia will not have easy passages to the titles.
The Parkites did not win Chinese Inddor, and have already had a bad start at national and Magnolia were whupped by Ventures in the Chinese knockout.
But good luck to both of you.

It was Malevrn men who beat QPCC in both semis of league and knockout at chinese indoor. They reached both finals, so look out for them. Don't be hating, but if u do it makes the victory sweeter!!!!!!!!!!!!!

National Indoor
This is the year of the "Mags" - They have taken home every single trophy this year - Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think any team (men or women) has ever achieved this - Way to go girls!!! Wishing you all the best in National Indoor and lets start the trend again for next year and take home the first trophy for the 2005 Season!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meaning of Whupped
Hockey Fan, let's just say Magnolia were beaten, regardless of the score, they were BEATEN!!!!!
They are a good team but teams are "whupping" them regularly now. They were beaten in their very first game by the girls in purple. Well done Checkers. Great saving Petal Derry. It will be a good tournament but I think at this point, anyone can win it.

Meaning of Whupped!!!!
I do concede that "Mags" lost to both Ventures and "the girls in purple" (Checkers) but once again they were not "whupped".

The meaning of "whupped" - to thrash; TO DEFEAT HEAVILY;

8-7 and 2-1 is not being defeated heavily!!!!

But there is still a long way to go in the National Indoor Tournament so ............ maybe, just maybe some team might be able to "whup" Mags and then you will be able to use the word in the right context. Only time will tell.

Hockey Fan and #44, getting a 8-7 beating can be considered a whupping. Your team conceded 8 goals, that's a lot of goals for so a so called top team.

Well, well, well ....by earlier definitions of 'whupped' ... I'd say ... ok ... Mags 'whupped' Checkers in the Knockout Finals on Thursday night ... 4 - 3 ... some would say Checkers were in with ah chance ... but others of us who know hockey know better !! :-)

Now ... as for last night .... well, I don't think 'whupped' is a fair word to use .... hmmmm... maybe 'whupped, whupped and DOUBLE WHUPPED' ... hmmmmm ... maybe not .... let's see, maybe I'll just say that Mags showed what true Champions are made of in the convincing 5 -1 DEMOLITION of the Checkers team who 'whupped' them earlier in the league competition, in a match that, at the end of it all, counted for .... hmmmm ... well, NOTHING !!! :-) :-)

CONGRATULATIONS to Carib Magnolias, as we continue to be the most successful women's indoor team in Trinidad and Tobago ... taking the title more times than any other club in the history of the tournament !!!
