A Raphael Govia hat-trick saw Queen's Park run past their Chinese counterparts 6-4 in the Men's Open Division of the 2004 Colfire Invitational Indoor Hockey Tournament at the Chinese Association, St Ann's on Thursday night.

Queen's Park notched four of their goals in the second half after leading Chinese 2-1 at the interval. The other goals from Nicholas Govia, Azad Ali and Peter Kam saw the Parkites past their opponents, despite double strikes from Ryan Marchock and Dominic Young.

In the Over-35 Men's category, Chinese were again on the losing end, this time falling to Fatima 3-2. The teams were locked at 1-1 at the half, but Fatima prevailed thanks to Alan Young's two goals and one from Richard Downie. Both Chinese goals came from the stick of Roger Chin.

The Malvern Under-21 men got past their Paragon counterparts 3-1 thanks to two goals from Mickel Pierre and one from Bryan Lezama, Nigel Noel scoring Paragon's lone item.

The Paragon Under-21 Women, though, were not to be outdone, breezing passed Ventures 3-0, thanks to Vhenise Elliot, who found the net twice, and Avion Aston, who scored the other item.

And on Wednesday night, veteran Albert "Bubba" Marcano matched the scoring output of the entire Notre Dame squad while leading Malvern to a thrilling 9-5 victory in a Men's Open Division match.

The high-scoring Marcano notched five goals and was more than ably supported by equally-prolific teammate Wayne Legerton, who scored three times, and Colin Ryan, who got the other goal.

Notre Dame kept the game exciting with two goals from Kenneth Whiteman and one apiece from Keith De Peza, Liam Milton, Joel De Gendre.

And Christina Abreau scored three goals to lead Ventures to a 5-3 win over Paragon in the Women's Open Division.

Paula Mullon and Cathy Govia also scored for Ventures, while Paragon got their goals off the stick of Avion Ashton, Vhenise Elliot and Kristin Thompson.
