SCOTLAND?S hockey bosses today expressed satisfaction following their three-game trip to Poland, writes NIGEL DUNCAN.
The new-look Scots side, with several young players in for Scotland?s Olympic squad players, held Russia and Austria but lost 6-3 to Poland.
Edinburgh-based Engene Connolly, Scotland?s team manager, said: "The side coped really well with Austria and Russia but found it tougher when they had to step things up against Poland.
"They are a bit further into their season than we are and it?s a steep learning curve but the whole point of going on this trip was to give the younger players experience and they all benefited."
Scotland also had to cope with a bout of food poisoning but Connolly added: "We were a bit stretched at times but these things happen when you travel."
