Defending champions, Wazalendo, reaped six maximum points in the Nairobi hockey league fixtures at Simba Union ground over the weekend.

They edged Parkroad 1-0 in an evenly contested Pool "A" duel at Nairobi Gymkhana, the scorer being James Mwangi in the first half.

Wazalendo had been awarded a walk-over the previous day against United States International University- Africa (USIU) who failed to show up. Wazalendo take an early lead in Pool "A" with six points.

Karate Axiom thrashed Nairobi Institute 7-0 in a Pool "B" clash at Nairobi Gymkhana. Ajitpal Lall (hat-trick), Azad Shah (double) Firoz Sultan and Riaz Shah were the scorers.

Karate were held to a 2-2 draw by Nairobi Gymkhana. Kennedy Osikuku, James Munyi and John Khamala scored a double each as Kenya Police trounced Nairobi Institute 6-1 at Gymkhana. Joseph Ochieng scored the consolation goal.

Police played to a 1-1 tie with Gymkhana on Saturday. Patrick Mugambi scored for Police's and Manvinder Mann replied for Gymkhana.

In other matches , Parkroad pipped Simba Union 1-0 with Modi Ogada scoring. Simba earned three free points 24 hours later after USIU failed to turn up at the venue.

Following weekend matches, Wazalendo top Pool "A" with six points followed by Simba (three), Parkroad (3) and USIU (nil).

Karate lead Pool "B" with four points, same as Police who are placed second due to inferior goal difference. Gymkhana are third with two while pointless Institute are fourth. The league continues at the weekend with four matches on schedule.

Sarjit Singh Bhogal - Son of Hari Singh Bhogal
Sad to inform that my father Sarjit Singh Bhogal has passed away earlier this month on 14/11/2004. God rest his sole. I was wondering if anybody had any hockey records that included my father's name or picture. He was part of the Bhogal clan who played hockey back in East Africa. please, whoever is giving us information about kenya results in the ongoing KHU league both National and Premier, give us true information because I cant understand how a team in the National league is playing a team that is in the Premier league. Thias is information being used by many so stop misleading us.
