LAHORE: Kazakhstan’s women hockey team defeated Pakistan 3-1 in the second test to lead the four-match series 2-0 at the National Hockey Stadium here on Thursday. The tourists were leading 1-0 at half time. The home team, who were unable to match their superior rivals, however managed a consolation goal in the second half. Kazakhstan established their supremacy in the 25th minute when Podshivalova Natalya converted the second penalty corner. The visitors added their second goal in a lovely mid field move through Orazgaliyeva Ainura in the 40th minute. Six minutes later the home side suffered another setback when Domashneva Vera scored with a calculated shot. Pakistan netted their lone goal through Azra Nasir in the 47th minute. Kazakhistan got three short corners while Pakistani claimed one.
Friday is the rest day. The third test will be played on May 8 (tomorrow).
