Result: 0-1 Win KCC A 0 vs. HKFC A 1
HKFC Ladies secured the Hong Kong First Division Championship with a crucial victory over KCC Ladies. After a long and competitive season the league title came down to the final game with both Club and KCC equal on points going into the clash.

The score line did not reflect the end-to-end nature of the game as both KCC and Club spurned some great goal scoring opportunities. Both keepers had exceptional games, with Mini Franks on superb form for Club between the posts.

Club managed to put on pressure from the whistle and frustrated the opposition going forward. Kate Mack put on a stunning display in defense exasperating the attack, which led to the first yellow card of the game. Mack, having produced an excellent clean challenge and coming away with the ball, was hacked down in what can only be termed as "reckless retaliation" from the star forward of the KCC team.

With KCC down to 10 men, Club seized on the opportunity and managed to turn the "power play" to their advantage. Nikki Todd playing a through ball to Strachan who could not find the target with her first attempt, however D'Allivez was on hand to hammer the ball goal ward and taking a deflection Strachan finished off. Club soaked up pressure for much of the first half with Glancy and Probert getting them in the way and breaking down KCC offensive play.

The second half saw more of the same end-to-end action. The second yellow card of the game came half way through, when Strachan was involved in a "dangerous play" incident. Strachan thoroughly deserved her marching orders after flinging her stick during a diving tackle. Club stepped up their game and KCC failed to capitalise. Club created some great goal-scoring opportunities with Billie Piper forcing a save from the keeper and Mel Braithwaite striking wide.

Club controlled the closing minutes winning a short corner and Glancy had a great chance to put the game out of reach however her attacking prowess deserted her.

It was a strong end to a great season for Club has clinched the TRIPLE, winning The League title, the Hockey Association Cup, and the HK 11-a-side tournament!

The men?s South China series continues with the finals series taking place 8-9th May, with Guangdong, HKFC, KCC and Shaheen still left in contention.

The comment above was terrible....he has only mentioned name of HKFC players..just purely because he is from HKFC? This is ridiculous..wasting my time and people outside HK will think HK have a bad person posting up all these articles. It may be difficult to know the players on the other team but ask people from the other team to comment. Stop wiriting these bias articles.........i have nothing against Simon

Who ever wrote the earlier comment might never read any of Simon's report before. He mentioned Arif, Akber, Asgkar, John Stapley and may be some more but not many as he really know nothing about other clubs information beside HKFC. I also have nothing against Simon but he really a bias.

i think its possible as a strong midfielder is crucial for club, because if brad is not in the defence then club will have a problem there!

but alot of people don't want arif to go to club including me.

Yeah...of course it would be good for Arif to go to club...it will break down the traditional barriers of segregation in HK hockey and it means that Arif will be playing for a club which is well organised, unlike the majority of clubs in HK. Yes, that does mean KCC will have a bit of a situation in their hands but who's fault is that? The pen pushers at KCC are destroying one of the traditionally strong sports clubs in HK and it doesn't look good for the future...none of the decent players there are home grown anymore! Also, about Simon being bias-what a crock of squit-the only folk being bias are the ones who read these pages with negative feelings towards club in the first place. These debates about Simon are really tiresome-why don't you keep your criticsims to yourself because he is purely writing for PFH out of the good of his heart and requires time and effort which you probably aren't willing to provide yourself.

bias
what leprachaun said is completely not acceptable. People have there own views and even Simon is writing stuff from the bottom of his heart it is pointless, it reflects to everyone around the club that he only cares about players from hkfc. If someone is to write anything on behalf of hkha he must mention names from both sides of the team not just his friends. Just like all other mach reports, football and all sorts, they must reflect same amountof informaiton from both team.

To be sure, to be sure
Hockey player-what's not acceptable? If you have your own views then why don't you enter an informative article yourself. Of course Simon's interest lies in Club primarily-that is what journalism is about. But if you've got a problem with his content then why don't you write to PFH on behalf of your own club, better still, why don't you set up a website called www.anti-club.com, because that is probably the only topic you will cover. There is nothing wrong with promoting yourself on this site so long as you aren't being negative towards other teams, which Simon has not done. If you look at the Indian, Pakistan, GB pages etc... you'd be able to see nothing but self-praise throughout. The point is, stop going on about Simon, because it is an unconstrustive topic, and serves only deter one sports writer from producing valid work.

A player that can help a team with the most improvement for the season.

I would pick,

1, Alfonso (Shaheen)
2, Harry (KCC)
3, Brad (Club)
4, Naveed (SSSC)

outstanding players
what about zaki and mustaffa?
kieran is also a good player but not experienced enough because he is still too young and must say that he will be a great player
zaki is still 19 and mustaffa is still 17 i think they are also considered as "young and experienced" players.

Aman dillon too is a skillfull player but with his attitude towards playing he can hardly be outstanding

OC...orange county intellect?
I think you'll find newspapers do have very specific policies regarding which teams have the most coverage. Funnily enough I can say that with confidence as I have just been to interview a sports journalist about the exposure of football in tabloids and quality papers for a case study. I study journalism at university as a matter of fact. I think you will also find that if you are unfamiliar with any of the player names that is only because you are unfamiliar with members of the hockey community. I grant that this may not be the case in the SCMP to the same extent-but then the SCMP blatantly lacks any stance in political or social context. Then again-on a fundamental level do you not recognise how much more often Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea are mentioned than Wolves, Leicester or Southhampton? Perhaps Leicester is a bad example considering several members have managed to make headlines for matters not related to football.

Im not talking about which teams have the most coverage... well its pretty obvious that there are more articles about Arsenal than there are on a team like Wolves. Im saying in the paper you would not have only members from 1 team mentioned.. i.e. in the SCMP If the bloke who wrote the article was a Leister Fan.... Even though he is a Leiester Fan he would not mention players from only Leister.. see wat im getting at?
