For the first time the Malaysia Hockey Federation (MHF) will hold a special umpire course for the national class two and three grade umpires.

The course will be conducted by the International Hockey Federation's (FIH) Kevin Cullen from April 8-11 at the Concorde Hotel.

A total of 31 candidates have been selected for the course. Four of them have been nominated by the women’s section of the MHF.

MHF secretary S. Satgunam said the course did not involve the international graded umpires.

“It is a basic course for the newcomers. The FIH have provided a grant for this course and that is why we have an FIH instructor running the course,” he said.
