Tracey Fuchs scored twice on penalty corners to lead the United States women's field hockey team past Russia 6-0 Tuesday at the Olympic qualifying tournament.
The U.S. team moved into a tie with South Korea for third place in Pool B and guaranteed itself at least a fourth-place finish in the group. The top two in each group automatically advance to the Athens Games. The two third-place and two fourth-place teams will compete for one remaining berth.
Tracey Larsen, Kristen McCann, Kate Barber and Keli Smith also scored for the United States.
Spain (3-0) became the first team to earn a spot in the Olympics, beating Japan to take sole possession of first in Pool B. The United States (1-1-1) plays Spain on Wednesday in its final game of group play.
