Great Britain's men's hockey team have qualified for the final of the Athens International tournament in convincing style, with a 7-0 win over Greece.
Jimmy Wallis set the team on their way with the game's opening goal in the 12th minute.

Danny Hall and Niall Stott both scored twice to set up a final against Spain.

"It was good to score some goals but disappointing not to make more of the vast number of opportunities we had," said captain Brett Garrard.

Wallis set Great Britain shortly before Russell Garcia and Danny Hall linked up nicely for Hall's opening goal.

Dundee Wanderers' Niall Stott made it 3-0 as he turned cleverly at the top of the circle.

In the second half, the team continued to dominate, winning 12 penalty corners but managing to convert just one of them.

Defender Ben Hawes was on hand to score it, before Hall and Stott both added their second goals each.

Barry Middleton rounded off the match by scoring in the final minute.

Preformance of the Greek team?
Any comments on the performance of the Greek team please. There has been so much talk about thrashing scores of 20 and 30 goals and now we see scores that in today's hockey are considered as normal. Has anyone seen the games and give us some information on the performance of the Greek team?

Yen,

This tournament is a test event of the facility and organisation around it by the host nation a the start of the Olympic year. This is a normal procedure to test the pitch and iron out any possible problems before it is too close to the event. In the case of the Hellenic Hockey Federation, it was probably slightly more important given outside perceptions of the 'poor' state of facility preparation and internal organisation. From reports it seems pitch was fine as was the organisation.
