On the opening day of the 1st Men?s Junior AHF Cup, Singapore overcame their opening game jitters to post a 4 -1 victory over Iran.
Singapore's goals all came from well executed penalty corners. Singapore scored from their 9th minute penalty corner from Mohd Farhan Basri. In the 19th minute Shaun Lim Shi Hee scored from a well executed drag flick penalty corner goal to give Singapore a 2-0 lead at half time.
After the break the Singapore team seemed to be in a somewhat lackluster mood allowing the Iranians to score a quick counter attack through Arman Assadolahi in the 44th minute of the match.
The Iranian goal stung Singapore to action resulting in 2 more goals in the 48th and 64th minute through Herman Mansoor and Mohd Farhan Basri.
Singapore will play Hong Kong China in the next match on Monday.
