Punch & Judy Rabat, Pasta Poiatti, Hunters Tower Rest. (YS) and The George Pub will be playing in Sunday's semi-finals of the Challenge Cup. While the qualifiers from Group B had been decided following the Punch & Judy Rabat victory over Sliema, qualification from Group A remained a tight thing right to the end.

Punch & Judy's 2-0 victory over Pasta Poiatti Qormi meant that Rabat won Group B and will be facing The George Pub in Sunday's semi-final. Pasta Poiatti will be facing Hunters Tower Rest. (YS). For the record Punch & Judy's goals were scored by Robert Aquilina from a short corner in the first half and by Shawn Falzon from a penalty in the second. Tony Tabone and Liam Pace umpired the game. In the second game of the day the first Floriana derby of the season was won by newcomers Celtics YS 2-1. All the goals came in the second half with Chris Bugeja opening the score for the Celtics from a penalty. The Hunters Tower Rest. equalized through their skipper Charles Micallef who notched up his second goal in two matches. Chris Bugeja gave the Celtics their first senior victory when he converted another penalty in the final minute. This victory, however, was not enough for the Celtics to qualify for the semi-finals. In fact all the teams in Group A finished with three points. The Hunters Tower Rest. (YS) took first
place thanks to a goal difference of +1, while The George Pub came with a nil goal difference. The goal difference for the Celtics was -1. Joe Lewis and Reno Cremona umpired this match.
